Our goal is to create lasting, positive change in the lives of every participant we support. We are committed to building stronger individuals, stronger families, and stronger communities by promoting inclusion, fostering genuine connections, and creating pathways to education, employment, wellbeing, and independence. We measure our success by the confidence our participants gain, the opportunities they embrace, and the brighter futures they create for themselves.

Everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported regardless of their disability or life circumstances. At Young Leaders Youth Services, we are committed to walking alongside children, young people, and young adults through trauma-informed mentoring and NDIS-aligned supports that create real opportunities for growth and connection.
Our approach is community-focused and purpose-driven. We support participants to build confidence, develop practical life skills, and work towards their personal goals in environments where they feel safe and understood. Our mentors foster strong, consistent relationships, implementing the right supports to promote independence, wellbeing, and long-term positive outcomes.
We actively encourage meaningful community engagement, helping participants strengthen social connections, build confidence, and develop a genuine sense of belonging. A mentor isn’t just someone who guides you, it’s someone who walks beside you, believes in you, and helps you become who you’re meant to be.

"They say, 'Write your own story.' For a long time, I never truly understood what that meant. Today, I do.
I spent much of my teenage years in out-of-home care and experienced things that no child should ever have to witness. I saw firsthand the impact that a lack of support can have on a young person's life. I struggled with my mental health, experienced severe behavioural challenges, and often found myself in trouble within my family and the wider community. For many years, I couldn't understand why. Later in life, I was diagnosed with severe ADHD and complex behavioural needs. That diagnosis didn't define who I was it simply helped me understand myself better. Deep down, I always had goals, dreams, and a desire to achieve something meaningful. But like many young people, I was surrounded by negative influences, made poor decisions, and at one point almost lost my life because of the people I chose to associate with. For years, I stayed quiet. I didn't realise the power of my own voice or that my experiences could one day become someone else's hope. Today, I choose to use that voice to advocate for young people and to be the person I once desperately needed. Along the way, I was incredibly fortunate to have people who believed in me when I couldn't believe in myself, Father Chris Riley and my mentor Chris from PCYC and my family. They didn't just guide me; they showed me what it truly means to serve others with compassion, consistency, humility, and heart. They planted a seed that would eventually become my life's purpose.
Today, I have the privilege of continuing that mission by supporting, mentoring, and empowering young people and young adults who deserve every opportunity to succeed. There are so many incredible organisations doing life-changing work across our communities, and I have the utmost respect for every one of them. Every service plays an important role in creating brighter futures, and together we make our communities stronger. What makes Young Leaders Youth Services different is that our work is built on lived experience. We understand many of the challenges our participants face because we've walked similar paths ourselves. Our support isn't built solely on qualifications, policies, or procedures, it's built on empathy, understanding, genuine connection, and trust. We don't just show up when it's convenient; we show up when it matters most. Our vision reaches far beyond providing support services. We're building a community where every young person feels safe, valued, connected, and empowered to become a leader in their own life.
People often see me as the face of Young Leaders Youth Services, but the truth is, I'm not. The heart of this organisation is our incredible team, our participants, and their families. Without their trust, courage, and belief in what we're building together, Young Leaders Youth Services would not be what it is today.
We proudly support people from all walks of life, breaking down barriers, restoring hope, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities one person at a time. We believe every young person has leadership within them, it simply takes someone willing to believe in them until they learn to believe in themselves. This has never been just a job. It has never been about recognition, titles, or personal success. This is a calling. As long as there is a young person searching for hope, guidance, or someone to believe in them, we will continue to show up with purpose, compassion, authenticity, and heart. No matter your past, your circumstances, your diagnosis, or the environment you grew up in, your story is not finished. We are here to walk beside you, help you rewrite your story, empower you to overcome adversity, and support you in achieving your goals. Because your past may shape you, but it never has to define your future.
